You can update your Master or Investor account password directly from your MetaTrader platform. To complete the change, you will need to know your current password. If you do not remember it, you can reset it by following the steps provided in the How to Reset MT4/MT5 Account Password
Changing Your Password on MetaTrader (Desktop Version)
- Open MetaTrader.
- Go to the Navigator panel.
- Locate the account for which you want to change the password.
- Right‑click the account and select “Change Password.”
- Enter your current Master Password.
- Choose which password you want to update:
- Master Password, or
- Investor Password
- Enter your new password in both the New Password and Confirm fields.
- Click OK to complete the update.
Password Requirements
- Length: 8–20 characters
- Must include numbers, uppercase and lowercase letters
- Must include at least one special character (!@#$%&*^()-+_)
- First and last character cannot be a space
Changing Your Password on MetaTrader (Mobile Version)
- Select the account you want to update.
- Tap the settings icon (three dots “…”) next to the account.
- Choose “Change Password”.
- You will see options for Change Master Password or Change Investor Password.
- If prompted, enter your current Master Password.
- Type your new password in both the New Password and Confirm Password fields.
- Tap Change in the top‑right corner to finalize the update.
